One water well can change the lives of an entire community, providing clean, fresh clean drinking water within the community.
We use good yet cost effective construction methods to ensure the wells are built to the highest quality and will last a long time.
The surrounding is tiled for easy cleaning. The solar panels and solar pump enable water to be extracted from approximately 40 to 60 feet underground. A large 1000 litre water tank holds the the fresh water, whilst taps provide easy access to the water.
This Solar Community Water Well is suitable for area across Sindh and Punjab. For the desert regions in Sindh, the more powerful Village Solar pumps would be suitable.

Q. How is this constructed?
A. A borehole is machine dug to reach the water table and lined with pipe. A solar pump, panels and water tank is installed, with a concrete surround to help keep water within a confined area
Q. Are there any maintenance costs?
A. Like any mechanical device, pumps need maintenance especially when they are in constant use. Maintenance is normally required every 1 to 2 years for cleaning and replacing parts.
We do not request maintenance costs up front and utilise general donations are used towards maintenance. We would welcome maintenance funds if you are able to donate towards this.
Q. Where are water projects built?
A. On community accessible land. We focus our water projects where access to clean water is severely restricted in rural areas.
Q. How long does a water project take to build?
A. Normally 2 to 4 months from donation.. Factors that may affect this time are the number of wells in the construction queue ahead of yours and Ramadan (physical work slows down). We will keep you updated if any delays are encountered.
